John Deere Model D Tractor

In 1923, John Deere began the production of internal combustion engine tractors. The Model "D" was a practical, durable machine with an enclosed drivetrain and a two-cylinder engine. Fueled by kerosene, this handsome tractor produced 15 horsepower at the drawbar, and was capable of 22 horsepower from the belt drive. The retail price of $1,000.00 put it within the reach of enterprising farmers.
